In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the IRS published guidance for employers to allow plan participants to make mid-year election changes for 2020 Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (DCFSA). This means you have a mid-year opportunity to adjust your current DCFSA contribution amount without experiencing a qualifying life event.

Air Liquide will offer a special enrollment period from August 1 – August 10, 2020 to increase, decrease or stop contributions to your current 2020 DCFSA coverage. Contribution changes will be effective September 1, 2020.

As a reminder, the DCFSA allows you to set aside pre-tax funds for dependent care expenses (typically child care or daycare expenses). Expenses can be claimed only for dependents under age 13, elderly dependents or dependents of any age if they qualify as disabled. The last day to incur expenses using your 2020 DCFSA is March 15, 2021. The last day to submit all claims for the 2020 benefit period is April 30, 2021.

Your annual contribution is deducted evenly from your paychecks through the year. If you choose to make a change to your current contribution amount, your new contribution is effective September 1, 2020 and will be evenly spread across your remaining 2020 paychecks.

To increase, decrease or stop your 2020 Dependent Care FSA contributions, visit the Air Liquide Benefits Center online at www.airliquidehealthbenefits.com or call 1-800-964-8826 during the enrollment period, August 1 through August 10, 2020. Changes will not be allowed after August 10, 2020.
